Kings Avenue is a 4,600-square-foot family home in West Vancouver, thoughtfully reimagined as a warm, timeless residence designed to evolve with the family for years to come. Studio Poppy is leading the full interior design scope, including the redesign of the kitchen and bathrooms, flooring, lighting, millwork, finishes, and a comprehensive furniture package. The vision balances the home’s traditional architectural character with clean, contemporary interventions, layering in natural materials, thoughtful storage, and curated moments of colour and texture. Every decision is grounded in livability, durability, and long-term function, creating a home that feels both elevated and deeply personal to the family who lives there.

What We Are Working With.
Kings Avenue is a character-filled family home with a strong foundation, but its existing layout doesn’t yet reflect the way the family wants to live. Closed-off rooms, underutilized spaces, dated finishes, and limited connections between key areas create opportunities to rethink flow, function, and everyday livability. The goal is to preserve the home’s inherent charm while creating a more intuitive, cohesive backdrop for family life, entertaining, and the years ahead.
Materiality Exploration.
With programming complete, a full site walkthrough behind us, and our initial schematic presentation underway, the project is beginning to take shape. Alongside the planning work, we dove into the clients’ Pinterest boards to uncover the recurring details, materials, and moods they were consistently drawn to. Two distinct design directions emerged, giving us an early framework for exploring colour, texture, materiality, and the overall feeling of the home. Here’s a first look at where the concept is heading — floor plan deep dives can come later.
